Our history

MOSFA is the Media Observatory for Sustainable Fishing in Africa, a non-for-profit organization network of journalists and media professionals in over 44 countries in Africa making an impact through communication, collaboration, and endeavors to influence good governance of the fisheries. The ultimate aim of MOSFA is in support of promoting:

(a) Africa’s Blue Economy;

(b) the African Union Malabo Declaration on Accelerated Agricultural Growth And Transformation for Shared Prosperity And Improved Livelihoods by 2025;

(c) the U.N Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1, 2 & 14) by 2030; and

(d) the West African Regional Fisheries Program (WARFP) which is aimed at  strengthening  governance  and management of the marine fisheries in West Africa by 2025.
